Heating guidelines

In the oven This wonderful pie can be eaten hot or cold, defrost the pie overnight in your fridge, and warm through in the oven;

Small (180oC/Gas mark 4 for 15-20 mins, 190oC Non Fan assisted).

Medium (180oC/Gas mark 4 for 25-30 mins, 190oC Non Fan assisted).

Large (180oC/Gas mark 4 for 40-45 mins, 190oC Non Fan assisted).

Pour over some extra gravy if you wish. Remember, for us to add more gravy, we would have to reduce the meat content! 


Microwave Although our pies "can" be microwaved (remove foil for extra safety) we dont recommend this as it will cause the pastry to become too soft and will ruin the texture, for best results heat in a conventional oven for the times and temperatures given above.

Locally Farmed beef reared on the banks of the river Trent, we use chuck steak and forequarter cuts of beef in this the most popular of our savoury pies. The beef is slow cooked overnight in order to make the meat tender. We then add a rich ale gravy. All encased in our melt in the mouth shortcrust pastry.

Our special pie pastry does NOT contain any hydrogenated fats or oils, and uses only vegetable margarine & shortening.

  • Large: Serves 5 to 6 portions

Beef & Ale pie

I bought two pies from you, from your Xmas market in Matlock, I have to say they are one of the most delicious pies I have had, The pastry melts in the mouth, and there is plenty of meat in the pie.

We also bought a apple & blackberry sweet pie, and again the pastry just melted, and was full of fruit.

I will now definitely be ordering so more online, as they were delicious
