Things to know about our deliveries:

How will my order arrive?

All our pies are delivered to you cooked and frozen, due to a very short , but very tasty pastry.

Your order will be securely packed in a polystyrene box with plenty of bubble wrap and dry ice or frozen gel packs which will keep your order frozen during delivery.

Winter Months

During the winter months we use frozen Gel packs to keep your order at the right temperature until you receive them and pop them in your freezer.

Summer Months

During the warmer months of the year, we use dry ice to keep your order frozen (this dry ice is frozen down to -72 degrees Celsius). When you receive the box the dry ice will have naturally turned back into a gas and will leave an empty bag (Don't worry ! the pies will still be frozen). In case there is any dry ice left over when you unpack your order please be sure to use caution (a glove is recommended) when handling the bag due to the extreme cold.

When you receive your order, the Lime Tree boxes which contain your precious pies may become soft to the touch and make you think your pies may be defrosted. This is not the case, If you are unsure if your order is still frozen and safe to use, simply grab a knife (or any hygienic sharp object), and probe into the centre of the pie (meat pies only, fruit pies do not require testing), if you feel resistance on the knife that means the centre of your pie is still frozen and is perfectly safe to use. Go ahead and place it in your freezer as normal. If you feel that your pies are not frozen (meat only), feel free to call us on 01623 836288 and we will be happy to help you out.
